Collaborative project proposal for The International Garden Festival, Reford Gardens, Quebec CA
The tension between nature and space is most evident in urban conditions of the 21st century where competition for the cultivation of the garden is limited to rooftops and small parcels. Our design takes the traditional icon of the tree and reimagines the structure as a vertical platform that provides planting opportunities for small gardens at multiple layers. This tree can be placed anywhere, bringing the garden to areas that may otherwise be constrained.
